Rovaniemi: Daytime Husky Safari

About This Experience

Ride through the magical Arctic landscape behind a team of eager Alaskan huskies. Your musher welcomes you at the resort reception and walks with you to the kennel, where the dogs greet you with unmistakable excitement before the safari begins.

After a clear demonstration of how to steer and brake your own sleigh, you set off into the surrounding wilderness. The huskies do the pulling while you enjoy the silence and scenery of the frozen forest — a genuine, active experience rather than a passive ride.

Back at the kennel, you'll warm up with hot drinks by the campfire while your guide shares facts and stories about the huskies and how the kennel is run.

What Travelers Say

Amazing activity. Unfortunately there was not much snow left so it was mostly ice, slush and grass. The dogs are super excited to run and very friendly. A lot of info about the dogs after the ride and hot juice with cookies. Our guide was also very nice and helpful. They give you full overall and snow boots to stay warm and dry. We will definitely come back next winter!

Favorite event of the trip!! This was SO FUN. Everything is very well explained. The dogs know what they’re doing, just remember your brake- they’re happy to keep going! :) They get very excited to run. Are well taken care of. Everything was very well done and explained easily.
