About This Experience

This full-day Arctic adventure takes you from Rovaniemi to the harbour city of Kemi to board the legendary Sampo, a genuine former Baltic icebreaker now used for tourist cruises. The 3.5–4 hour cruise crushes through thick sea ice while you explore the ship on a guided tour and relax in its warm lounges and café-restaurant.

The highlight is stepping out onto the frozen sea and floating in the open water in a buoyant survival suit that keeps you warm and afloat — a surreal, only-in-Lapland experience (weather permitting). You'll also receive a non-alcoholic welcome drink and a certificate of participation.
